Special thanks to Hancock Volunteer Fire Department all the hard working volunteers and staff from the local civic groups and the Village & Town of Hancock, and indeed the whole region, who have worked tirelessly over the last few weeks to make Christmas on the Square & the 16th Annual Parade of Lights in Hancock NY such a huge success this year. Special thanks to all those businesses and organizations, who built floats in temperatures rivaling those in Alaska.
We proudly welcomed and entertained 2,689 adults from Noon until 8pm, add in approximately 300 children, and that’s nearly 3,000 neighbors and friends enjoying themselves in the Hancock Town Square! That is truly a great turnout. Event featured: Free Children’s Carnival, Petty Zoo, Ice Carver, Rudolph’s Village-wide Scavenger Hunt, New Playground, Fire Pits, S’mores Stations and the Parade itself. All these activities were well loved and received by the locals and tourists alike. Although our Ice Rink wasn’t able to be open for this event, it was built and drew quite a response. We look forward to opening it soon.
There are countless people to thank, but none of it would have been possible without the manpower and financial support of the Village/Town of Hancock, the Hancock Volunteer Fire Department, the Hancock Area Chamber of Commerce, the Hancock Partners, the Hancock Community Education Foundation, NBT Bank, Bisbee Lumber and many many others!
We will add more photos and videos as they become available this week!
