NYSCA 2024 Grantee

Hancock Partners & Laura McManus Unveil “Four Seasons Across the Delaware River” Opening Exhibition for New York State Council for the Arts Grantee

Hancock, NY – November 2, 2024 – Hancock Partners, Inc. is proud to announce its unveiling of the solo exhibition, “Four Seasons Across the Delaware River,” featuring the exceptional work of NYSCA Grantee Laura McManus. Hosted at Tricia Kirkland Studio from November 2 to December 22, 2024, this exhibition embodies our commitment to supporting local artists and fostering cultural enrichment within our community.

The exhibition presents a stunning collection that captures the vibrant beauty of the Delaware River Valley through the lens of the four seasons. Laura McManus’s artwork invites viewers to explore the profound connection between nature and artistry, celebrating the ever-changing landscapes of this iconic region.

“I feel called upon by nature to share the expressive values of the natural world in a unique way," said Laura McManus. "Along with color and line, I strive to portray a sense of movement in my paintings. The atmospheric changes of the outdoors and seasons play a major role. Emotion and movement provide a physicality to the work as I build layers, continually adding and subtracting paint until I reach a finality with line and color simultaneously.”

Join us for the opening reception on Saturday, November 2, 2024, from 5 to 8 PM at Tricia Kirkland Studio, where attendees can meet the artist, enjoy light refreshments, and experience McManus’s remarkable pieces firsthand. Tricia Kirkland Studio is located at 102 East Front St., Hancock, NY 13783.

This exhibition is made possible by the generous Support for Artists Grant from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), alongside the dedicated efforts of Hancock Partners, Inc. and Tricia Kirkland Studio. Together, we are excited to showcase the creativity and talent that thrive in our community.

"We could not be more proud of the talent that resides here in Hancock New York, and Laura McManus is the true definition of what Hancock represents here in the Great Western Catskills." said Richard H. Lowe, III - Director of Economic Development for Hancock Partners, Inc.
